Rev. 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the “Root:” and the offspring of “David”, and the bright and morning star.
I have seen this verse for over forty years, and did not understand it completely.
It is clear the Jesus was saying that He is the offspring of David, but how could the offspring of David, be David’s Root? David descended from Jesus? The answer to this riddle is this: Jesus was Abel before He became Jesus. David descended from Abel, the Root. Abel is God’s only begotten Son who became our Lord Jesus Christ!

Lot’s of possibilities. Also the ROOT might be referring to the fact that from Jesus all things were created. He is the root of all creation. Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

That little word “BY”. All things were made for Him, not by him. God made all things, Jesus did not create, He is the created. A follower called Jesus Good, Jesus said: Why calleth thou me good, there is none good except God. Jesus Himself says in this verse that He is not God!
